The follow-up master's study consists of a field of study component, a teacher profile and a group of courses according to the Masaryk University standard (courses for the final thesis, language preparation, physical education, etc. within the university-wide courses).
By studying the Master's degree, the graduate will acquire the necessary competences that will enable him/her to work as a teacher according to Act No. 563/2004 Coll., on pedagogical staff, as amended.
The subject component consists of compulsory and elective subjects that make up the individual sections of the State Final Examination (SZZ). The compulsory subjects are linguistic disciplines (historical development of Russian, lexicology and stylistics of Russian, syntax and practical grammar of Russian), Russian literature (including children's literature and compulsory reading), translation and practical language exercises.
Teacher profiling consists of a pedagogical-psychological foundation, a disciplinary-dactical component and reflective pedagogical practices.
Subjects according to the Masaryk University standard include elective subjects, a foreign language and a final diploma thesis (3 follow-up subjects).
A total of 120 credits must be obtained in the follow-up master's study: 52 credits (subject component), 41 credits (teacher profile), 27 credits (subjects according to the Masaryk University standard).
The content and scope of the state final examination is as follows:
The graduate is fully qualified to exercise the profession of a teacher of the Russian language at primary school and at the corresponding level of multi-year grammar schools. In addition, he/she is qualified to work in extracurricular (e.g. leisure) institutions. He/she is prepared to base his/her professional conduct on well-structured knowledge and skills in the Russian language.
The course is taught in full-time and combined form.
Follow-up Master's degree in full-time or combined form. The language of instruction is Russian (exceptionally Czech).
This study programme is intended for graduates of bachelor study of the same field. The basic aim of education in Lower Secondary School Teacher Training in Russian is to prepare a fully qualified teacher of Russian with solid knowledge and skills in the field of Russian language and its teaching methodology.
“Discover the Russian language with us!”
By studying the master's degree, the graduate will acquire pedagogical and psychological knowledge that will be used in the practice of primary school teachers. The professional conduct of the graduate will be conditioned by the broader pedagogical and psychological knowledge of educational and pedagogical practices. The study is based on the interdependence of theory and practice.
Teaching in the combined mode of study combines full-time and distance learning, i.e. learning takes place through educational blocks, consultations and individual students' preparation. Part-time study is supported by a number of study materials in electronic format for independent work of students and distance learning.
The teaching practice is conceived as a coherent and gradated system with an emphasis on interconnection with theory and reflection and self-reflection of the student as a teacher.
The aim of the teaching practice is to acquire the professional competences necessary in the daily work of the teacher, to become acquainted with the roles which the teacher enters into in their work, to realize their own professional needs and to gradually take responsibility for the planning, implementation and evaluation of lessons. Throughout the teaching practice, students get a real idea of what a teacher's everyday work involves.
The teaching practice forms a coherent system of consecutive subjects. In the follow-up master's programmes, these are the subjects Teaching Practice 1 (1st semester), Teaching Practice 2 (2nd semester) and Teaching Practice 3 (3rd semester). In total, this makes up 280 hours (double-subject programme), followed by Seminar on Teaching Practice. Students enrol in the Seminar on Teaching Practice 1 twice during their studies (in the first and second semesters). The aim of the reflection is to provide students with a space for sharing and reflecting on experiences from their own teaching practice and helping them to deepen their reflective and self-reflective skills.
The system of teaching practice is regularly evaluated both through open and closed questions, both by students and the mentor teachers. The reflective seminars are also evaluated.
